(11.2oz bottle) - Large three finger head. Bubbles larger than the creamier ones in the special pack. Aroma of cookie dough. Nice sweetness to it. Like raisins and dark plums. Must have some candy sugar in it like many of the true Belgians do. Mouthfeel is just right. Not too watery, nor is it chewy like heavier octane Belgian brews are. A bit of dry malt in the finish. Most definitely not what you think of when you say Guinness.

33CL bottle at my student home, very dark almost black beer with a brown head. Aroma has Liquorice (confectionery) in it, taste has a bit of sweetness in it. very good beer, cant remember what Guinness tasted like so I can’t compare.

33cl bottle from Kihoskh. Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and smoke (reminds me of bonfire). I guess the notes of smoked wood comes from the roasted malt, anyway - it’s quite nice. Quite sweet, but well balanced with a subtle bitterness. Smooth and creamy with a mideum body. Easy to drink, and the alcohol is very well integrated. The smokey aroma was the biggest surprise for me, I did not remember that - just that I liked it. It is still a quite nice stout, although a bit to sweet. Clearly one of the best from St. James’s Gate.

Courtesy of tpd975 and fishingnet. Thanks guys. Pours dark brown to garnet with thin mocha head. The aroma is bold dark fruity esters of sweet black grapes, plums, ripe cherries along with mild roasty to burnt malts. Very fruity aroma and distant from the standard non draft version of this beer. Smells yum. The taste mirrors the aroma with big dark grapes notes, plums, prunes and raisins. Wow, very different Guinness brew.

Rich deep black brown with a thick creamy head. Sweat caramel coffee and candy aroma. Rich sweet caramel taffy flavor with a malty finish.

Had as Antwerpen Stout. Pours opaque coffee sable with a thick and fairly persistent tan head. Aroma presents yeasty, roast malt, and molasses tones. Flavor ups the roast malt and adds a smoky tone, while downplaying the yeast. Mouthfeel has firm body and some good fizz. Not quite as good as the original Guinness, but definitely drinkable.

Beautiful, chocolatey, strong stout with loads of character. When it comes to a strong stout, it doesn't come much better than this (excluding the finest imperial stouts). Extremely smooth and flavour in abundance. Loving that I finally got the chance to try it!

Bottle shared w/ Tim. Black, dark brown clear with light brown lacing foam head. Nice stout little bitter aroma and taste, not too bitter though. Some coffee. (Efteling 201408)

There's not a whole lot that distinguishes this beer from the regular Guinness aside from the nearly double ABV. That my friends, is a good thing because Guinness is a great beer. If you like Guinness, you'll like this one.

aroma of roast chocolate and metal cocoa tin .. big ole head, lacing is 2 thumbs up .. . dark brown black .. hmm, this is way to easy to drink, and the masking of the 8% is ridiculous, i could drink 10 in a row in half an hour, but when i got up to go to the bathroom, out like a light .. nice stuff, could be a touch thicker and abit more involved but very happy to try it.. red light district, here i cum!!
