Big ole brown head hangin in there till the bottom of my glass. Black pour. Nose of cola, dry chocolates and grain. body is middlin, creamy soft carbo with a slight tang. Chocolate and mild roast/smoke flavors, slight licorice and faint coffee notes, little bit of burnt toast. Chewy lil dry roast finish. Nice quaffer! Thanks Andre!

Rated Dec. 2012. 22oz bomber pours pure darkness with a thin mocha head of foam. The aroma offers up earthy to dark roasted maltiness as well as lesser amounts of burnt malts and chocolate malt balls. The taste is similar with rich dark roasted malt goodness, molasses infused earthy malts, chocolate malt balls and a sliver of spicy black licorice. Wow! The flavors just keep enhancing each other in harmony. I love this stuff.

First of all, I just read Phishpond's review and it is stellar. Great round mouthfeel reference there Bro. Mine poured pretty much muddled black, very tightly bubbled and tall tan head with tons of lacing. Nice roasted malts and subtle sweetness upfront on both nose and flavor, light black coffee, some molasses, some of the round Kim Kardashian ass mouthfeel Travis eluded to... Which makes it quite enjoyable to look at too. This bottle was from my PDX trip, bought in the freaking airport AFTER check in so I got to carry it on - I should have drank it on board my flight...

I'll be honest. I've often over-looked the Pelican selection because their label is boring and prices are low, I assumed they were probably weak. I am totally embarrassed by ever thinking that now. Poured pitch black. Not much head, just a trickle of lacing. Nose is slightly boozy, taste is big, huge round mouthfeel like Kim Kardashians ass. Bitter chocolate, some granola flavors and subtle wood. Wood. Kim Kardashian. YA.

Aroma is strong and oily with tones of coffee and unsweet chocolate and an overtone of molasses. It pours a deep, warm sable with a thick chocolaty brown head - would have gotten a perfect score in this department if the head had been a little more persistent. Flavor is smoky and sweet, tones of quality coffee, molasses and licorice with a touch of chocolate. Texture is smooth and fizzy, a teensy thin for a stout but still good.

Drank beside St.Ambroise on a recent beer/camping trip. Both are hugely flavoured with low alcohol content, good comparison. While the StAmbroise was better, this was pretty awesome! Oaty, bit of espresso, some mollasses. Bitter with a faint scent of hop (generic). Really crisp bite that I dig, but the body was just a bit to shy of medium for me to love, but not flavoured like a bitter thin stout. So it loses but its still great.

Very black with a light brown head. Good lacing. Silky smooth going down. Not strong in flavor and aroma but still nice. A little sweet. Roasty, chocolate. A little drying in he finish. Goes great with the stout brownie for dessert! Very nice

I didn't think 7% was strong enough to be considered an Impy Stout. A dark brown pour, a little bit of viscosity comes through, with a creamy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, caramel, coffee, chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel wil flavours of nuts, coffee, and chocolate. Still not convinced it's an imperial....but it's good!
