Ouch. I blame my bud xlperro for this one?

How so? Only in that he clued me on the fact that a Eastern European deli next to his place in La Mesa had some interesting beers. Now, is it his fault that I grabbed this 9.5%ABV Malt Liquor? Why yes, yes it is...! ;^)

This is like most East-Euro shite-schwills -- bearable when it's ice cold, but with a Mother Russia-sized instant hangover waiting in the wings if you let it get too warm too quickly!

But I have to give credit where credit is due..., the 9.5%ABV is rather well hidden, especially for a sub-par Lithuanian beer! But again, speed is of the essence here. "Be Quick, Or Be Dead"!

While racing the clock, drinking this down before it gets too warm (read: too nasty) there does seem to be some vaguely interesting things in the flavor profile. Yes, rather sweet, but with enough basic (very basic!) graininess to at least alert the taste buds that something other than ETOH has passed by, on it's way down the hatch.

But really, when all is said and done? This still falls squarely into the "f_'_ing shite" category for me. Bitter sweet, and not in a good way.

Aroma is corn malt and adjuncts and is hot with alcohol prevalent with some malty sweetness. Appearance is a golden yellow in color when held to the light with a fuzzy, overcarbonated head on top that is soapy and bleach-white in color and diminishes quickly. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with some malty complexity with pretty much no hop accentuation with a palate that is crisp and wet-like as well as boozy. Flavor is malty sweetness, almost cloyingly so, with corn and grain with an aftertaste that alcoholic as well as wet cardboard with a finish that is clean and crisp but alcoholic. Overall, your typical Eastern-European, post-Soviet, strong lager that is too hot and too boozy for its on good; not really recommended here...

    Total crap!
The big foamy white crown on a hard pour dies rather quickly as does my enthusiasm for actually continuing drinking this, bright gold with some unfiltered stuff (not much), slow moving bubbles. The odor is chalk, oddly sweet apple, grass, candy and pee. Taste borders between pretty undrinkable and totally undrinkable. Actually, it tastes just like the description at the top of the page looks. Odd. Metallic, bad apple, grass, alcohol, cardboard. Thick and viscous, bad after taste. I seriously had a headache instantly. I'm going to go and throw this beer at a bum.

Malt liquor from Lithuania, new arrival at The Beer Store in Ontario. Sounds like fun. Pours a deep golden colour with a decent head, leaving nothing around the glass and disappearing fast. Not much carbonation. Just a few tiny bubbles here and there coming to surface. Came in a can for me, so no green bottle, no skunk. The nose is not repulsive, just a bit sweet with some fruits (like oranges) and a bit of alcohol. Even after a few sips, I can feel my head getting bigger (not a Sledgehammer lyric). Oily mouthfeel without too much burn. The taste is like butter mixed with sweet malt and a slight dry aftertaste. Feeling now the drunkeness. Not as bad as I read.

This malt liquor pours a light orange gold color from a 500ml bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is orange, malt and alcohol. A medium bodied malt liquor. Malts are fruity nad sweet. Lots of orange, orange peel, honey and alcohol. There is a bunch of corn but not bad for a Malt liquor. Touch of alcohol oiliness. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

It appears that I have stumbled upon a Lithuanian Malt Likka. Hmmmmm this one is not good, but it is interesting. The beer pours a medium-dark golden yellow into my pils glass with a foamy head that soon becomes a thin film. There is a constant powerful carbonation, and the beer leaves minimal lacing. Aroma? Well it's a strong mix of sweet malts, alcohol, and skunkiness. Not too repulsive but not inviting either. The flavor is like nothing I have ever tasted. You can tell right away that this strong lager isn't brewed to impress, rather it is there to gey yer swerve on. Very sweet and skunky, there is an underlying sweetness that reminds me of bad candy. The strong alcohol content makes itself known, yet it isn't overpowering. Thin, sticky mouthfeel accompanied by a finish that makes me wonder if I just did a shot of liquor. One and out for me on this brew.

Woooo this was rough. Smelled like freshly cut grass with some fresh dog crap. The taste was even worse than the smell if that can be imagined. Very cloying and leaves a nasty film in your mouth. This defines skunk. Bleeeeeh!

What is it about beer in green bottles smelling like skunkbutt? Actually this was more like skunkbutt and spoiled fruit salad. Yum!Pale gold color. Looked like it was watered down. Thumb thick dense head and fair amount of bubbles. Fairly good taste tho, somewhat sweet, fruity, leaving your lips a bit sticky by the time the pint was done. At almost 10% ABV the alcohol was well hidden in the taste. If you want something cheap. $1.39 a pint and differant give this a shot. Just hold your breath when you first open the bottle.

I have serached for years for something different and this was a winner. The head and color is terrific without being overcarbonated. It has a sweet fruity smell with the taste to match. This is the first beer I have ever had that I could say is actually sweet. If it were not for the strong hoppy taste to counter the sweetness this would not work. Just think bitter sweet. This is not a session beer. It is almost syrupy with a sweet finnish.
