This is a smooth, medium bodied classic brown ale. A crisp mouth feel, with sweet caramel body, mild hops, and gentle finish, lend to the easy enjoyment of this beer. Brewed from pale malts and four varieties of roast malts this beer has a pleasant malty character. Certainly not a stout, this is a clean, roast flavoured beer. A great alternative to both the Red and Stout.

They claim this beer is heavy - I must have missed that part. A beautiful red-brown colour with a tan head. A nice malty aroma, nutty, with ample hoppage. The flavour is more nutty malt, some caramel sweetness, and finshes with a bitter flavour. But not heavy.

Pint of draft at the Canmore brewpub. Dark reddish brown in color, just a thin ring of off white foam. Lots of caramel smell and toasted malt. Taste of toffee, slightly sweet with just a touch of hop in the background. Also some taste of molasses. Medium bodied, sweetish, but not overly stickky or cloying. Not the best brown I have had, but still enjoyable.

Covered in mud, stinking and nearly comatose, I sat at my table at the Grizzly Paw Pub gorging myself on an unearthly ammount of poutine and then my beer appeared. Super dark brown in colour, it had a small sized light tan head that left nice permanent lacing throughout the first half. The aroma was fresh with dark but sweet malts and not too much more - needed more smell forsure. Then again, I smelt like dead people, so maybe I was nullifying the aroma. Taste consisted of plently of lightly roasted malts, a small ammount of weak, spicy bitter hops, yeast and more malts. Beer was really smooth with a slight bitter dry finish. Highly drinkable in large quantities.
