Look back, look forward. Look to our Island, where this brilliant Hefe was born. This classic wheat ale is cloudy, crisp and dry, with aromas of banana and clove – great with brunch, patios, and bright dispositions. Let it shine. Vaguely tart with light clove and banana flavours and aromas. Finishes crisp and dry. Get under the bridge.

I told my son about this, and he asked me if I was playing video games. Apparently there is a very popular video game called Hey Day. I wonder if their releases coincided with one another. Anyway, the first thing I’ll write is that this is better, to me anyway, than the Robson Street Hefeweizen. Right out of the can you can notice the traditional banana, bubble gum, and clove notes missing in the other. While still not dominant in the flavour, you can taste them.

Not a bad lookin' beer. That, alas, is its best attribute. Not a bad tasting hefe, but nothing overtly special either. Pretty much about what I'd expect from Granville island, which to me is like the wets coast version of Mill St. That is either hit or miss, with nothing that really fails badly or really stands out either. Has kind of a thick mouthfeel, but not really cumbersome or annoying. There are better hefe's, but this one ain't bad. Drinkable.

Hazy golden-amber colour with an average head and minimal lacing. Lots of bananas in the aromas with some cloves and mild butterscotch. Medium-bodied with a slight dryness in the finish. Wheat taste with some orange notes. Pretty refreshing overall and nicer than expected. Great for summer !

The beer pours a slightly hazed golden orange with a very thing off-white film for a head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, and slight hints of bubble gum and spices. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour has some toasty wheat notes to it with hints of light fruit and spice. -

Pours a fairly big frothy off-white head but doesn't stay very long. Weak lacing though. Has a hazy golden amber appearance. Lively carbonation. Aromas of bananas, a bit of yeast and wheaty notes. Flavours are sort of sweet but with a little bit of hoppy bitterness, quite subtle. Strong notes of bananas again with quite a yeasty like punch. Some bready malts, mild spices and hints of wheats as well. Pretty good mouthfeel, slick, tarty and oily sensation. Full bodied. Great retention. A good summer beer.
