BROCKTON IPA is a celebration of our 25th anniversary. Brewed in the style of a Pacific Northwest India Pale Ale, this refreshing IPA is golden coloured and well hopped. It's destined to become a highlight of this great city, just like its namesake in Stanley Park.

There are a lot of IPAs in Canada which follow the rules of the 19th century British IPAs which means to the 21st century beer drinker, they’re as much an IPA as Pluto is a planet. At one time, both were as described, but today, they’re not. A light amber pour, almost clear, and with a thin off-white head. Cereal malt, floral hops, and yeast dominate the aroma, although I suppose one could delude themselves into believing that there is a citrus hint there. Flavour is grainy with nary a citrusy note in the mix.

Pours an average size frothy beige head but doesn't stay very long. Has a pale golden light amber appearance. Weak lacing. Malty aromas with hints of corn and hops. Flavours are mainly hops, somewhat bitter. Has somewhat of a rusty like taste. Pretty plain mouthfeel, somewhat watery. A little bit of bitterness but was expecting much more.

Part of the 12-pack Summer Mangler at The Beer Store. Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a beautiful creamy white head, good retention and loads of thick lacing. A little hoppy aromas at first, but some biscuit malt appears quickly and surpasses with hints of honey. Mild bitterness and not much dryness for mouthfeel. Biscuit and fruity malt (apricot) taste with a metallic hints from the hops. Not a bad beer, but not a true hoppy IPA. More like a decent fruity amber ale.

Along with their hefe, the nicest GI brew I have tried to date. The only drawback I experienced was the poor lacing, but other than that, wow! Very citrusy taste. Do I denote.....lime? Certainly tangerine. And that aroma - like freshly mown grass in a pine forest after a rain fall.

This beer poured a transparent golden copper colour with a very thin white head. The aroma is weak caramel malt, and weak citrus hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour was bitter citrusy hops, with a hint of a sweet malt backbone. Better than a Molson macro offering.

Completely average, imagine slightly hoppy notes on Alexander Keiths IPA. Really humdrum stuff, will not buy again. I bought because I didnt want to buy two 6 packs of the same IPA and this was the other one, the first being phillips and being quite lovely. Yay!

The appearance was nice enough, with a clear amber body capped by a smallish white head. Where's the hoppy aroma as promised by the label? I really had to work to detect it. Taste was so-so, but I thought Central City's Pale Ale was more like an IPA than this was. Average in every way, although it was better at the finish.
