Brewed in the English tradition, Nut Brown Ale combines the finest domestic and imported malts to produce a chestnut-hued ale of unusual complexity. Subtle notes of chocolate, honey and fine tobacco give this world champion ale an enjoyable and satisfying "nutty" finish.

One of the best draught brown ales I can recall for a long time, too bad it didn't make the permanent lineup. A beautiful clear brown pour with a thin tan head. Caramel, nuts, and citrusy hops dominate the aroma. Flavour is quite nutty and refreshing.

Medium brown body with a slight beige head - no lacing. Unassuming aroma of toffee and nuts. Thin in th emouth. Sweet with hints of more nut and toffee in the flavor. Drinkable - but that's about it.

Pours a dark brown with reddish hues when held up to the light. Foamy, one finger head which leaves some spotty lacing on the sides of my glass. Caramel, chocolate and nutty aromas. Roasted malt, chocolate, nuts, caramel with hints of coffee and vanilla on the tongue. A full, almost creamy mouthfeel with a nice dry finish. Although I'm not a big fan of most of Goose Island's regular brews, this is probably my favorite of the lot (I do love their Imperial IPA, Night Stalker Imperial Stout and Bourbon County Stout). A pretty good brown ale.

Picked this one up at Macadoodles while in Missouri. Dark brown color and pours with a thick tan head. The aroma is chocolate with notes of coffee and caramel. No surprises in the flavor although caramel is the stronger here whereas chocolate was the strongest scent I picked up. The coffee shows mostly in the finish which combines with mild balancing hops. A sip or two in and the head has settled to a thin film. The palate is slightly roasty but also a little metallic. Pretty much a ho hum Brown Ale that’s solid but far from anything special.

Dark brown pour with a nice head and good lacing. Roasted nut smell with a little coffee and chocolate. Fresh and smooth tasting beer. Brown ales continue to impress me!

This beer poured a dark brown color with a thin beige head. It had a soft malty aroma with flavors of nuts with hints of caramel malt and coffee. A decent beer overall, but nothing spectacular.

Pours out in a clear reddish brown colour with a small off-white foam. Clean aroma of cocoa-powder, currant-leaves, caramel and nuts. Medium-bodied with notes of cocoa and fudge with touches of dark berries. Very clean mouthfeel. Nutty and caramely finish.

Suggested to me here on BP, I tried this one with dinner tonight (well, it was gone before the order was brought out). Very good dark color, decent head, and caramel/choco/nutty aroma. Started off with very good mouthfeel, and ended dry, which brought the mouthfeel down for me. Overall, very good. I will be drinking more of these.

Bottle courtesy of Indybigtom: Poured a clear deep brown color ale with good foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with subtle notes of nuts. Taste is also dominated by some nutty caramel malt with a dry ending with limited hops presence. Medium body with good carbonation. Well done session ale.
