This deep colored American Brown Ale is often requested and one of our personal favorites. Many a weekend was spent perfecting this one. Brewed with 2 - row pale and 5 specialty malts, its malty in both flavor and smell. A heap of Cascade and Willamette add to balance this easy drinking ale. Hole up, have a few, and tell us what you think. We're bettings it's the best American Brown Ale you'll ever have.

Pours an appetizing chestnut with a thick golden-buff head that leaves good lacing.aroma delights with caramel, roast malt, molasses, and cloves notes. Lip-smacking flavor is a little sweet but not too much; notes of caramel, cloves, toasted malt, and a little molasses dance across the taste buds.smooth texture is firm and fairly lively. Good people brew good beer.

Another solid brown via Tennessee. Dark malt, toast, mild chocolate/coffee and plenty of crystal malt in the nose and on the taste buds. Good looking pour. Medium bodied with a lingering metallic aftertaste, slightly distracting but not offensive. The crystal malt could be toned down. Not bad.

    12oz can -

Received via trade with farginbastige6! Awesome. Thank you sir! First, my opinion on a majority of brown ales is that it seems to be a throwaway style. Like brewers are forced to create this, a blonde, a hefe, a pale ale as their required brewering line-up. So rare is it that someone makes something that's really enjoyable. This is one of those times where a brewer really makes ones that's a stand-out amongst the pedestrian sea of brown ales.

The beer pours out a beautiful, milk chocolate brown body, murky with a thick, creamy, beige head which was long lasting and quite thick. Aroma is mostly made up of toffeeish-like malts. Flavor has some leafy-bitterness with a light sweetness to provide some balance. Finish is lightly bitter, quick and pleasant. Very nice beer.

From fargingbastige: Slightly hazy dark tea brown with a very slight head and just a bit of lacing. Nutty aroma with some sweet malts and a decent nose of earthy hops. Taste is slightly nutty, malty with a light sweetness, a touch of cocoa then an good dose of hops leaving a nice light bitter linger. Thanks Curtis - glad to have some good beers coming out of Alabama.

I'm a little worried when I see beer in a can but this comes recommended, and more importantly, as my first beer trade from fargingbastige6. Appears a good hazy brown with a thick foamy head. Smells of malt, nuts and some sourness. A very smooth and mild mouthfeel followed up by a malty taste with a decent hop ending. I'm very surprised, this is not a deadbeat brown. Certainly has the smoothness of a Newcastle type beer but the flavor is much better, this is a real easy drinking brew. Thanks Curtis, I'm a convert!

Dark brown and thankfully much richer and more flavorful than a Newcastle. Slight head with good lacing. A little too sweet for my taste, but all in all a pretty good beer.

On tap 2008 Southern Brewers Fest - A murky brown appearance with a moderate head. The aroma contains some nutmeg, chocolate, and caramel. The flavor is rather sweet with lots of caramel and toffee. Overall I thought this was a nice one.
