After having been to Bavaria a few times and being a big hefe fan, I didn't expect much from this brewery in the "North." Yes, I love Gleumes' altbier, but a weissbier? However, this one had a nice pillowy head. The aroma was most strongly of bananas, although the cloves/spicing were somewhat reserved and underplayed. The flavor certainly had some bananas going on, but also was bready and yeasty with a slightly bitter/sour finish that ended mostly bitter (some noble hops?). The alcohol presence (no idea what the ABV was) had to be more strongly perceived than what it actually was (ie. it didn't hide itself well). Some caramel malts, which were out of character.
