Genesee Cream Ale is cheap and agreeably flavorful macroswill. This beer, (and Extra Gold Lager), are my basic everyday choices. Much better than regular Genesee Beer...and I'm afraid to even TRY Genesee Light! Walmart doesn't have a large stock of quality micros but there are a few. As we all know, price and reputation do not guarantee great quality or enjoyment on the part of the individual purchaser. But enough philosophical rambling; and besides, I believe I've met or exceeded the mandatory 150 character limit! :D

Big can for super cheap at Albertsons in Vegas. Pours a very light golden colour with a creamy white head and some decent dirty lace. Sweet malt aromas with mild adjuncts. Same for taste. Not really good, but I have had worst. Not much creamy except the head.

The second half of my 2 for $3 on the Vegas strip. Although not great (or even very good), this is better than the regular Genesee beer. Smooth mouthfeel, sweet malt and grainy flavor. Best when preceded by several very good beers.

Average beer with everything about it being uneventfully average. Being a cream ale, it is smoother than the high carbonation would lead you to believe.

Pours a golden color. Smell is of grains, cream. Taste is mild, some cream and grain. Overall considering the low price point, this is not a bad beer.

pours a golden-yellow hue with a crystal-clear body and a strong effervescence with a pillowy white foam head. The aroma is lightly sweet malt with a moderate graininess and a light adjunct character (corn, maybe?). The taste is light malt with a hint of corny sweetness while the hops are mild. The mouthfeel is light body with a hearty effervescence.

For 66 cents a beer, I would think cheaper than Bud. This was one offer that I couldn't refuse. Saw this and wanted to try, then saw the price and HAD to try. Decent summer beer. Nothing special. Corn, water, and hops. I also thought this was going to be creamy, but was told that cream ales are actually a version of a Kolsch. The hop finish is nice. This is a light beer and refreshing. Worth the price, but besides that is pretty much forgetable.

Pours a typical clear amber, but it least it has a fairly thick and somewhat persistent white head. Aroma is malty and slightly fruity, nothing special but at least it's OK. Flavor is crisp and malty with just a bit of fruity sweetness, nothing special but still enjoyable. Texture is fairly smooth and fizzy. This is better as a party beer, or as an accompaniment to a meal, than a stand-alone drink, but it's still all right.

This is a blast from the past. Haven't had one of these in over 35 years! I picked up a six pack of cans at the local independent grocery. Pours a clear, pale yellow color with no head. Aromas of grain and corn, much like many macrobrews. Taste is similar to the aromas with a hint of hops, giving it a dry finish. Nicely carbonated. An easy drinker. I'd certainly prefer this to Coors Light or any other light beer (although I almost never drink them). A fun visit back in time.

At a local store, I saw a stack of these for sale. Remember having them some time back when I lived out east. Apparantly, my memory isn't very good. Cloudy beer was watery and it seemed like it was missing possible taste. I expected a cream ale to be smooth, and this wasn't.
