From Sugar Moon Farms (www.sugarmoon.ca). The term was originally coined by Native Americans for the sugaring season, and this is definitely a brew to be best enjoyed under a cold sugar moon! Cheers!

Picked up a bottle at the brewery. Pours a huge frothy beige head and has a dark amber appearance. Aromas of sweet and roasted malts as well as earthy hops. Flavours of roasted malts, sweet and caramel malt notes. Also some hints of toasty and nutty malts. The maple is fairly strong all around, aroma and flavour wise. Foamy and creamy mouthfeel.

I was pretty enthusiastic about trying this one, could hardly wait for it to get cold enough. Poured it into two glasses... And then I was regally disappointed. Way too sweet, like pour it over ice cream sweet. I can't remember the last time I didn't finish a glass of beer, but this one got poured out.

Bottle: Poured a dark amber ale in the glass. 2 finger tan cap, fair lace. Aroma is nice Not too overstated but the maple is present but compliments the malts -. like maple cereal. Big malt spine, moderate maple flavor mixes with the herbal-woodiness of the Spalter hops. Long wet finish, a tad sweet but not offensive. One of the better put together maple beers I’ve had, innovative use of Spalters.
