Funkwerks Saison
Funkwerks Saison
Rated 3.690 by BeerPalsThis tawny orange beer pours with a rocky white head. Aromas of passion fruit, tangerine, and black pepper hit the nose. Flavor is a cascade of orange, lemon verbena, ginger and pepper. And in a second it is gone, finishing with a dry and lingering bitterness that awaits another sip.

Pours hazy, barely translucent golden yellow with a thick snow-white head. Sour citrus dominates the flavor while letting yeasty and butterscotch hrs peek through. Flavor is fruity and a little sour, with malty and yeasty underpinnings and a hint of lemon. Mouthfeel is fairly fizzy and form. Get your funk on!

Orange golden yellow pour, slightly hazy, well carbonated, some lacing. Inviting aromas of floral spicy and fruity hops, yeasts, sweet malts, honeysuckle. Taste is very nice: big fruity and zesty spices, sweet and floral, light bubble gum, big flavor all over. Love this beer.

Wow. Had several tasters of brews at Funkwerks but this is the only one I noted. Pours a bright, well carbonated, slightly cloudy golden colour. Medium sized head. Plenty of froth that sticks around for a while. Nose is very floral, accented with fresh greens, spices and herbal notes. Taste is spicey, filling and spritzy. Beautiful!

It pours a hazy light-orange and golden with a thick white head and copious lacing. An aroma of fresh grain malts, light hops, lemons and oranges, peach and apricots, mango, and light spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth, thick, and rich. Flavors of fresh malts, hops, lemon and orange, peach and apricot, light mango, vanilla, banana, and mild spiciness. Mmmm .. wonderful!

750ml bottle. Pours a hazy straw gold with a monstrous pillowy white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is grains, some banana and clove, a little fruit, bubblegum and yeast with some floral hops.
The flavor is slightly sweet cereal malts, earthy yeasts, spices and pepper and some dry bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with spritzy carbonation.
Overall, a very solid saison. -

Sampled at GABF on 9/18/2010. This saison pours a light gold color from a 750ml bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head with nice lacing and good retention. The aroma is sweet, spicy and floral. A medium bodied saison. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops and herbal and spicy. Lively carbonation. A very crisp and clean tasting saison. Light and refreshing. Finishes crisp and dry after starting out sweet. Excellent saison. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
