Sample from bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Very dark brown, nearly black colour, tan head. Aroma and flavour have mild roasty notes, mild coffee, chocolate. Silky smooth flavour, very pleasant to drink. Sure, there are "bigger" stouts out there, but this one is impossible to dislike.

Wish lister based in the goodness of London Porter and Vintage Ale. Looks like a porter, but with luxurious head. Smell is roasted dark malts, berries and cocoa. There is a distinctly Fullers (or maybe just English yeast and hops) aspect to the aroma and flavor. Light yet full flavored. Not incredibly dry, lingering lightly bitter cocoa berry finish. Well put together ale. Glad to enjoy one without all the alcomohol :)

On tap at the Town Crier Pub, Toronto. Pours an average size frothy brownish head and has a dark brown appearance. Nice dirty lacing. Mild roasted malt aromas as well as light cocoa, coffee. Flavours of chocolate, mocha, dark roasted malts, coffee and notes of vanilla. Very smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel. Full bodied and medium retention. Sort of a chalky sensation. Pretty good stuff!

500 ml capped bottle, as a 4.5 % ABV. Poured in a shaker pint glass a clear and almost black with reddish tones coloured Stout with a one finger tan and creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Low carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is roasted malts, roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate. The flavour is rich, roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, dark riped fruits, figs, plums and a spicy touch, licorice. The mouthfeel is light crispy, creamy and smooth. The texture is quite watery. This light to medium bodied Stout has a dry roasted malts finish. A convincing and easy drinkable Stout, brewed in the capital of the Bristish Empire.

On tap @ Bent Elbow - not cask but keg - Luscious deep black with a 1 finger tan cap. Aroma is roasted cereals- grassy hops with some berry fruit. Flavour is rich yet body is medium-light...rich roasty-toasty mats and resinous bittering hops - finish is roasty bitter clean and dry. A top notch dry stout.

Aroma is not too strong, but invites with smoky malt and hints of coffee and treacle. It pours a deep, deep sable with a thick and fairly persistent tan head. Smoke dominates the flavor, which is not as well-rounded as most stouts I have tried but still pleases with roast malt, coffee, treacle and hoppy tones of varying strengths, plus just a whisper of - sardines? Or is that the red berry? Texture seems a bit on the thin side, especially for a stout, though it is fairly fizzy; finish is smoky and a little hoppy. OK if you like this sort of beer. Give it a shake.

Black with small light brown foam head, lacing. Aroma is bit weak, roast nuts and some toast. Taste is somewhat bitter coffee, some nutty notes. Aftertaste is dry, small bitter nuts. (Moscow 201304)

Pours a nice black with no head what so ever. Little light showing though the glass revealing some nice carbonation. Aroma is strong of chocolate and black coffee. Taste is fairly bitter, not unlike a cup of black coffee. Somewhat dry and fizzy to the tongue. Taste is unmistakably watered down and seems to be rushed. Slightly metallic aftertaste. Not exactly my idea of a good stout but it is drinkable.
