Pours clear sepia with a thick and rather persistent light tan head. Aroma delivers notes of roast malt, chocolate and toffee. Flavor presents all that the aroma promises but with more chocolate, chocolaty sweetness, and a hint of lightly charred wood. Mouthfeel features firm body and OK fizz. Sail to the nearest package store or watering hole for one.

Almost no aroma. Maybe a little grain and hops. Thick pour. Deep ruby red to mahogany appearance. A short lived thin head tops it off. Looks almost like a stout. Good mouthfeel but little taste. Maybe a little paper and nuts. Finish is a little sweet and sour. This is a great looking beer with a good mouthfeel. Just no tatste!

Unintentionally #2000, just another number I suppose. Part of their Brewmaster Reserve Series (2008). Poured a dark brown color, some mahoganey edges, ok off-white head and lacing. The aroma was full rich chocolate, light walnuty notes. The flavor followed suit, strong chocolate/cocoa, a bit dry at the same time, though, and with a touch of bitter roast, surely not sticky sweet, although malty. Finishes dry, and to use BeerandBlues2 lingo, "chalky," sums it up well. An ok brown, but I think this style has really dropped to near bottom on my list of desired styles. Just goes to show, I'm not one for picking milestone beers, as a nut brown surely wouldn't have been a conscious decision.

Another decent offering from Full Sail. Most of their beers I’ve had I’ve enjoyed to some degree and this was no different.
The beer pours out a dark chocolately brown color, semi transparent, with a nice three finger thick tan head. The aroma starts out with some sweetness, but I swear I could pick up notes of weak whiskey. It rounds out with some subtle nutty/roasted malt combo which is nice
The flavor is backed up with a solid malt profile. It kinda gets a bit off when it warms up a bit and gets a bit too much like warmed ice tea or used tea bags. But cold to cool and it’s not bad. Not a lot of nutty character in this one, almost like a porter in training. -

A vigorous pour into my 25cl tulip glass produces a fat-two-finger-thick, lightly browned, tan colored head. The beer is a burnt amber, dark brown color that shows a brilliantly clear, ruby hue when held up to the light. The aroma is a nice mix of sweet grain and browned, toasty malt; notes of concentrated berries, caramelized malt sugars, toasted nuts, touches of roast coffee beans, perhaps a touch of dark chocolate and some toffee notes. As my nose gets used to the aromas, the nose starts to become more fruity smelling, with berry notes, some light cherry and prune becoming more noticeable.
Somewhat sweet tasting, which accentuates fruit notes of concentrated berries and raisins. This finishes with a toasted maltiness that tries to dry out the up front sweetness, though it doesn't entirely succeed. Caramel malts and toasted almost roasted grain notes seem to get quite amplified in the finish. The fruitiness is pretty striking here; it is likely a mix malt and fermentation character, but I am still quite surprised how distinctive it is. There is also a solid nuttiness here that is contributed by the toasted / roasted malt character, it in fact provides a deep, nutty richness to this brew that is definitely needed. As it warms the roasted notes get a touch harsh, with a very slight burnt-vegetal note and a bit of acrid bitterness.
While this has some interesting flavor & aromas to it, it doesn't quite seem to gel into a cohesive whole. Certainly enjoyable, but some how seems a bit flat noted.

This brown ale pours a deep brown color from a 22oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, with decent lacing. Aroma is malty, chocolaty and nutty. A medium to lighter bodied brown ale. The malts are caramel and nutty, with a touch of chocolate malt. The hops are earthy and a touch floral. Nicely balanced. It has a nice backbone and is very drinkable. Would probably be a decent session ale, it is kind of a milder tasting brown ale, if that is even imaginable, but there is enough character to keep it drinkable. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and a touch dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
