October 2012: 500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.8%. Extremely pale yellow colour, pours very fizzy with a coarse white head. Strong sweetish fruity and grassy aroma. The flavour is fresh and slightly fruity with a peppery hint. Decent hops in the aftertaste.

Rated June 2012. Poured up via Kolsch pouring standards at Dom Fruh, in Köln, with pure gold body supporting a white head. The aroma strikes me as being decidedly floral in hops with some modest sweetness in the background. The taste is floral hop flavor all over the place and then it runs into slight floral and spicy hop bitterness. To about midway some sweet malts are met by malt graininess and they help take this floral flavor ride into the finish. A bit too floral for my taste actually and the mild malt and grainy maltiness did help out some.

My second offering at World of Beer. A golden colored beer with a two fingered frothy textured white head rising above. It settles fairly quickly leaving a thin ringlet. The profile is grassy with sweet malt. Light, crisp and refreshing.

Clear yellow with small foam head. Taste is pure German pilsener with short bitter aftertaste. Good for thirsty moments, drinking this watching European Football Championship Spain - Italy (Karlsruhe 201207)

The best thing going for this beer is the refreshing hoppiness. Other than that it is true to the style and very drinkable. Of all from this style this is probably the most popular and best recongnized.

Bottle dated 2006, tried in 2006
Aroma: citrus, honey, yeast, grain
Appearance: golden yellow, slightly hazy, white cap
Mouthfeel: Weak to medium bodied
Flavour: Refreshing, grainy, citrusy hints, bitter finish
Overall: A refreshing beer that goes down well but really has nothing else going for it to distinguish itself from other German beers. -

In its 500ml bottle is a perfect beer to cool off, although she sparkles, its color is slightly yellow. I prefer this one to their non-alcoholic beer.

500 ml bottle. Poured in the original 0.2 l. Früh Kölsch Stange a clear straw yellow colored Kölsch with a two fingers white foamy head that had a short retention. Active carbonation. No lacing. The aroma is mild grainy pale malts, bready. The flavour is sweety malts, biscuits, bready, fruity, citrus, apricot, berries, mild floral hops. The mouthfeel is crispy, prickly and very smmooth. This light bodied Kölsch has a slight fruity finish. An easy drinkable Kölsch but not my favourite.

Golden colour, big white bubbly head. Aroma is salty hops with some grassy and maizeish notes. Flavour is salty hops with malts also balancing it up. Quite dry bitter finish. A nice thing.

Drunk straight from the tap outside the brewery tap on a summer's evening this was my first taste of Kolsch. What a fantastic product. Good head well carbonated. Aroma of grass and citrus fruits from hops. Soft on the palate with dry finish. It was a long night.
