You'll have a soft spot for this one. Using only fresh Michigan tart cherries, this beauty tantalizes with intense flavors combined with a no hesitation malt bill. Adding fresh cherries at five separate stages of fermentation achieves the ultimate balance between tartness and sweetness.

Pours a deep ruby with a vibrant pink head. Light, highly carbonated body. This beer is all about the cherries--slightly tart, sour cherry aroma and flavor. Refreshing fruit beer.

12oz bottle. Pours glowing hazy reddish orange with a small head that quickly goes to a thin collar.
The aroma is some bready malts, a little spice and slightly tart sweet pie cherries.
The flavor is sweet pie cherries with a little tartness and a little wood. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with low carbonation.
Overall, it's all about the sweet cherries. Too sweet and one-dimensional for me. A poor man's New Glarus Belgian Red. -

the scores seem a bit low to me, but everyone likes different things. the aroma took a while to open up, but was close to matching the flavor when it did. pours a nice deep red with pink head. dusty cherry aroma at first that you had to work for, but by the end I was stickin my nose in the glass. mouthfeel was light, and quite soft. tasted oaky(?) and slightly tart cherries. Littlr sweetness, but lots o cherry. I was prepared for something pretty tame and this turned out quite nice. aroma 7.5, flavor 8.5...but the beer is worthy of a 4.0.

I had this beer on Christmas 2010 and purchased it at the Wine Gourmet in Roanoke VA. The beer poured a fizzy pour - it was effervescent and spritizy. The beer tasted sour and of cherries but wasn't what I was expecting (a lambic). The best part of the beer was the pretty color - it was a really nice cloudy pinkish color.

Okay...very interesting occurrence. My wife, who likes absolutely NO beer, took a sip, then took my beer. I told her I needed a few more sips for an effective rating and she growled at me. Anyway, it was very red, with little head and lacing. The flavor (what I got of it) was really fruity, smooth and silky. There are a lot of cherries in this one, definitely "more fruity than beery"...but I prefer all fruit beers to be off of middle, one direction or another. I’d call this a winner from Founders. I’d like to find some more so I could actually enjoy one.

Bottled@Oharas, Tampere. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits and some cherries and parfumed soap. Flavour the same. A bit ripulipaska over it as well.

I’m still not sure how I feel about this beer, even after the whole bottle. There were times I felt like it was on to something, but then other times it just seemed to drift off into nothing and just seemed one-dimensional. Received in a trade via daknole (thanks!) and the beer pours out reddish-pink color like the color of water after cleaning your brush using the red water-paint. Aroma was dusty cherries. Flavor was dusty cherries with a very light twang/acidicness to it. Not bad for a single bottle, but if these came in 6 packs....ugh...

True amber color with a pinkish/light red head and blanketing lacing. Smells of honey, fresh cherries and bread. It’s sweet then mildly tart, fairly lighter in body. All malt and fruit. Tastes of ripe cherries, white grapes, glazed doughnuts and honey. You can taste the real fruit and it works well in this brew. One bottle was plenty for my enjoyment.

First - I like cherries... This one pours a clear pink-coral color with a thinnish head but very ample lacing. Very carbonated almost like a soda pop. Sour cherries upfront in the aromas with some malts and more cherries. Tartness from the cherries are the main taste with very slight malts - mostly sour but some sweet. I like cherries... Good refreshing fruit beer - definitely a summer thing.
