This amber-lit porter embodies the anticipation of Spring. Tantalizing aromas of maple, sweet roasted malts, and slightly earthy hops are layered upon the plump bouquet of split vanilla pods with toasty undercurrents of light coffee and chocolate. The undeniable warmth of this 10% ABV beer embraces the promise of spring with a lingering maple finish.

On tap at Arrow and Loon. Pours a small foamy head and has a dark amber appearance with ruby highlights. Lacing is ok. Right away, strong maple aromas abound, quiet sweet as well with light roasted malts. Flavours are also fairly sweet, maple is also quite pronounced but with a strong alcohol finish. Also has subtle notes of brown sugar and hints of molasses.

Not my favorite aroma for a beer but it certainly has plenty. Smells like sticky toffee pudding and a bit of alcohol. Nice appearance at first but the head disappears too quickly. Medium sticky mouthfeel. Flavour... I like it, I don't. I like it, I don't. Maple dominates with sweet coffee, vanilla, dark fruit and alcohol. Overall, it starts off well but quickly becomes sickly sweet. Smaller bottle would be suffice and get rid of the ugly box.

The beer poured a solid darek brown colour with a generous tan coloured head. The aroma was maple syrup, caramel, grass, and floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour was all about the maple, with hints of caramel, fruit notes, and grass in the background. Too sweet for me -

After rating the Brasseurs Illimités QV 2015 with maple syrup, might as well try the one I think will be much better. And it is. Real deep amber colour, almost copper with a creamy warm beige head, great retention some decent bottom thick lace. Nice maple sap aromas with lots of fruity notes. Sweet tasting at the starts with the maple taste, then some apples notes with hints of coffee in the finish with grassy hops. This is so much a better maple beer than the one before.
