After we realized we had never made a beer with our pals at Beyond The Pale, and they’d never brewed with Kveik yeast, the idea was floated and the plans commenced. They came over to the Hall and brewed up a New Zealand hopped Kveik with lot’s of Waimea, Wakatu, and Nelson Sauvin hops, and Voss Kveik yeast from Escarpment Labs in Guelph. The result is an easy, bright, punchy pale ale, full of berry and citrus flavours that are sure to welcome Spring to the Capital.

Hazy golden-beige colour, mild orange hue with a bubbly-soapy white cap, average retention and some foamy-soapy lacing. Beautiful fresh lemon zest aromas with citrus juices, oats and herbal hints. The taste continues with the citrusy notes, with the zest creating a light dryness, and still a touch of juiciness in the background. Much milder in the mouth, so goes down nicely with a tad tart in the finish. Quite a nice smelling, hazy, mildly juicy-dry Farmhouse Kveik.
