Nearly black in color, this dunkel-style beer is a seasonal offering from Leavenworth Brewery in Washington State. A fruity essence, but nothing like a hefeweizen. Bottleworks in Wallingford seels glass pig-shaped kegs filled with this beer.

On tap at brewpub. This dunkel pours a medium brown color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is malt and grain, with some roasty malts and chocolate. A medium to light bodied dunkel. Malts are fruity and sweet, a touch roasty with a hint of chocolate. Some grain and grass. Hop are slightly spicy and a touch floral. Nice balance. Light and refreshing, with just the right amount of chocolate malt flavors. Crisp and clean. An excellent session beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with some chocolate.

Worth finding when in season...a thick yet fruity and slightly hoppy dunkel-style beer.
