bought in a variety pack at the BCLC. Poured from the can much darker than I was expecting, like the darkest stanined oak floors I have seen. The head is a off white, like soy milk. Munich malt is well noticed in the aroma, brown toast, sweet, diluted hazelnut flavour, and just a touch of roasted barley. The aroma is better than the taste, in the mouth it is thinner than I thought, a touch of cold coffee, a little bit bitter and biscuity, but more than overtaken by sweet malts. Slightly darker, slightly sweeter Newcastle Brown Ale i think. Good head retention and lacing. Decent for a small town canada brew pub.

Poured out of a can for the review...Good clear deep brown brew with a small rocky tan cap. Aroma was dominated by sweet toasted malts but there could've been more malts - no question there. Faint chemicals too. There was a noticable burnt taste as well as some hops, but I've tasted this a hundred times before in average or just below average brews - now I'm not saying that this is a bad beer because it is not, it's just nothing new. I could also taste a hint of coffee, the slightest sourness and an odd grassy flavour tied into the bitterness. Mouthfeel was fairly smooth, but the beer seemed thin. Some mild bitter aftertaste along with that sourness and some odd lingering spice. Excellent belch though!

Relatively new packaging, Fist Trax is now available in cans, so had to pick up a sixer ($10.99CAN). Color is dark brown, with a thin tan head of foam - looks like a brown ale should. Smell of toasted malt, but quite light. Not alot of chocolate or coffee I was hoping for. The taste is similar and also a bit thin. There is some toasted, caramel malt and a bit nuttiness, which taste good, but not overly flavorful. The mouthfeel is actually quite full and sastifying. Not spectacular, there are other better examples, but I like to support the smaller breweries who try new things.
