This American style IPA is aggressively hopped at a rate of over 2lbs. per barrel. Big notes of citrus and pine compliment a reserved but firm malt backbone.

A bright amber colored beer with a big frothy textured beige-white head rising above. There's good hang time on the head. A moderate ringlet and persistent cap are left. Citric bitterness dominates the total profile with a sweet malt muting it somehow. Resin slickness on the palate.

Sampled at GABF on 9/17/2010. This India Pale Ale pours a light gold color from the tap. Small sized white foamy head. The aroma is hoppy, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and grapefruity. Medium bitterness. Nice carbonation. Crisp and clean. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Pour was pale and hazy with smallish head and a little lacing. Aroma was strong citrusy grapefruit, but the flavor profile was largely resinous hops with a mild malty sweetness. The bitterness level was moderate to high. An okay beer with no obvious flaws, but a pretty typical IPA.

Poured a clear orange with a beige head. Aromas of pine and citrus as advertised. Flavor was as well along with an earthy flavor that I wasn't sure about. Earthy flavor isn't so prominent when drinking this by itself, however when tasting this after another brand of IPA the earthiness stands out. This is very close to Great Divide's Titan IPA. A good brew for a great price.
