Had a few of these bottles hanging around. Pours a clean dark brown colour with copper-ruby highlights. The head is frothy with a warm beige head, good stay and full foamy lacing. Cherry nose over roasted malts and coffee notes. I do not get much lactose in here. Maybe expired with time, but do not remember it being milky when previously tried fresh. Roasted malts flavours with a little cherries, some mild sourness. Not bad, but wish it had some more lactose.

Picked up a stubby at the brewpub. Pours a fairly large frothy tan head that leaves behind some big thick sticky lacing. Has a deep dark brown appearance with amber highlights. Aromas of vanilla, cherries, light toasted malts, earthy and resin notes. Flavours are sweet, lactose, cherries, some hints of vanilla, a bit of chocolate. Has a slick and slightly warming mouthfeel. Perfect for the winter months.
