The appearance had a golden orange yet fairly clean body with a one finger white foamy head that leaves a fair amount of speckled lacing. The smell had a a fair amount of hops up front and a decent amount of hops. The taste was balanced but mostly staying true to an AIPA style, a somewhat malty yet bitter aftertaste, sticky sweet finish. The palate sat at a light to medium, fairly sessionable, carbonation seems subdued for its style but really just mediocre for the most part. Overall, this is not a bad AIPA, but nothing spectacular and nothing to quickly come back to.

A little light on the hops for an IPA, but then, I live in CA so my perception is a bit skewed. Nice dry tangy aftertaste. Perfect golden amber color, and some nice lacing on the glass, but the head disappears a little too quickly. Subtle caramel underbelly that slides right along the tongue. Mouthfeel is full for the style. A nice beer. A repeater for a summer evening.

    12oz bottle -

I wouldn't quite compare this beer to an IPA, but rather an easy drinking pale ale that is disguised as an IPA due to the label. Caramel is the dominant flavor right off the bat with th aroma....like smelling a caramel chew. Light floral notes, with just a smidge of pine. More caramel shows up in the flavor, but also some light citrus notes with noticeable spicy finish. The sweetness reminds me of something done on the East Coast, with the hops playing 2nd fiddle. Easy to drink all things considering. I have no clue where this is brewed though, but it sure isn't in Novato.

a throw in at the Superbowl. Didn't know what to expext. I am sure the bottle said Rochester, NY, but all on-line info says Novato, CA. Go figure. Doesn't matter, though, as this beer is borderline offensive across the board. hard to make an ipa this bad, but they manage. a little off hops and unpleasant malt, woth some soap in there as well. Nothing redeeming.
