This is our reimagining of a rustic agrarian beer style from the French-speaking Wallonian region of southern Belgium. Brewed with fresh zested oranges and Bridgehead organic Earl Grey tea, Dominion City Earl Grey Marmalade Saison pours a distinctive rusty copper colour with a delicious bergamot aroma . Flavours include contrasting fruity, spicy and tart notes with phenolic and fruity esters complementing a dry, moderately bitter finish. It all adds up to one deliciously unique and refreshing pint! Earl Grey Marmalade Saison is brewed with organic wheat grown and malted in small batches a stone's throw from Ottawa. Dominion City also works with local hop producers who are reinvigorating our province's lost and once-great hop-growing traditions. Saison was an essential component for the harvest on pre-industrialized farms, which relied on back-breaking labour and many hands. With potable water often unavailable in far flung rural areas, Wallonian farmers turned to brewing Saison as a drinkable beverage to offer their seasonal workers, known as "les saisonniers," who essentially survived on this easy drinking beverage over the hot summer months. Cheers!

Enjoyed at the Occo Kitchen. Pours a hazy golden-amber colour with decent white head and good lacing. Orange marmalade aromas with nice mild spices. Also fruity flavours with a little herbal hop notes. Quite a nice fruity refreshing beer that I hope they can do in cans at the LCBO.

On tap at Bowman's, Ottawa. Pours a fair size frothy beige head and has a hazy orangey appearance. Thick sticky lacing. Aromas are of yeast, spices, and. Flavours are somewhat sweet with the orangey notes, but mostly lots of spices come through as well as marmalade, which gives it a nice puckering feeling on the palate. Subtle malty notes followed by nice bitter hops and citrus fruity notes. Carbonation is normal or average. Slick and tingling mouthfeel. Quite refreshing. Maybe just a tad pricey.
