http://www.dogfish.com/brews-spirits/the-brews/seasonal-brews/romantic-chemistry/index.htm Dogfish Head has been brewing off-centered ales for off-centered people since 1995, with inspiration from every facet of life - the spice cabinet, music, even art. What you have here is a serious India Pale Ale shacking up and hunkering down with mango and apricots. At the same time! Romantic Chemistry is brewed with an intermingling of mangos, apricots and ginger, and then dry-hopped with three varieties of hops to deliver a tropical fruit aroma and a hop-forward finish. It’s fruity, it’s hoppy, it’s tasty! With artwork from our 2016 seasonal artist, Drew Millward, Romantic Chemistry features vibrant, abstract illustrations of each key ingredient.

Pours clear coppery orange-brown with a thick and rather fine-bubbled pale buff head. Aroma delivers firm hoppy and fruity notes, the latter featuring citrus, mango, and - yes, apricot notes plus a hint of malt. Flavor features all that the aroma promises, only taken up just a notch - it’s almost more fruit beer than IPA, but the hops deliver some subtle bitterness. Mouthfeel presents decent fizz and body. Romance the chemistry!

Kind of grew on me a little towards the last sample. Mango may have been too much ...gave it a bit of an overly sweet flavor. Balanced towards the fruity side, so has that tropical flavor and feel. Has a cloudy medium orange appearance. Thinking I prefer the straight up Aprihop, as a little too much going on here for an IPA. Good beer and interesting to try though.

Straight 8's! Thanks for sharing with me Joey. If DFH knows how to do anything right (and the do a LOT right), it's IPAs. This was another really nice IPA. Mango, citrus, apricot - a lot going on, but nothing over the top. Very, very nice beer. Best DFH offering I've had in ages.

Pours a copper colour with a small head and very little lacing. All the flavours in the brewers description are there but not very pronounced. Very little hop bitterness. Same goes for the aroma. Crisp thin mouthfeel. Enjoyable beer despite my blah review.

A bright orange-amber colored beer with a moderate sudsy textured off white colored head rising above. There's good hang time on the head. A nice ringlet and low film are left. I'm getting some of those fruits described in the label in the nose. Apricots dance to the front in the tasting with an aftertaste of ginger. Not very hoppy, but very delicious.
