Pours a fair amount of foamy brownish head and has a deep dark brown appearance. Ok lacing. Aromas of burnt malt, mild coffee and hops. Has a woodsy aroma as well. Flavours are quite sweet, some strong coffee notes as well as light chocolatey hints and some earthy hops. Subtle hints of vanilla in the finish. Good retention. Has a slick and oily mouthfeel. Good stuff!

Enjoyed at the St-Jerome brewpub. Pours a dark brown colour with a beige-mocha head, good retention and lacing. Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and vanilla aromas. The hops really show in the taste with a big grassy bitterness over the roasted malts. Notes of bitter dark chocolate and hints of vanilla, coffee that lingers. Quite a nice brew with a stouty nose and a big bitterness in the taste.
