thanks Lou. beer #1 of the giant box! lots of suds here. it headed up two inches, but i turned my back, and when i came back, it was an inch or so above the glass and spilling over. a little oxygen? pretty dark, though a thinner stout. nice aromas of roasted grain, molasses, and the slightest hint of rye and like they say, astringency. i wanted more rye...i didn't really get any in the flavor. overall, a decent dry stout.

Dark, crisp, robust, smokey.. according to my taste buds. I am very satisfied with it. It, as generally all beers around the globe, has its own unique flavor.

Easy on the palate is exactly right! Big things to Lou for this nice brew :) Pours a dark brownish black with a volcano of a head. Had to let it chill out for a minute before I got to sipping. Instant peaty, smokey malt with some earthy woodiness on the nose. Taste is really, very friendly. Lighter then your typical stout, but easy going down and overall a really nice session beer.

Sent by bluesandbarbq, a fairly light stout with some decent qualities. Hearty dark color with a spritzy head and little to no lacing. English malt aroma with some burnt and nutty aspects. Fizzy and lighter in body, balanced and easy going. Roasted malt taste with a good helping of crystal malt along with a noble hop presence.

Sampled from bottle, thanks to Louis. Pours opaque black/brown with a thick, sudsy tan head. Lots of patent malt in the aroma with some spiciness. Slightly bitter with a layered, toasted and roasted malt profile. Lots of cocoa, patent and coffee with some spice from the rye too. Quite dry and heavily carbonated. A fine beer.

A big thanks to Louis for allowing me to scratch off one of my hard to find states (Tennessee). So that’s a plus, and it’s really damn good to boot so definitely a win-win. The beer pours out a dark purple-ish/black body, mahogany edges and creamy amber head. Aroma is nicely roasty, the rye shows up well, some light smoke. It does miss some of the chocolate I like to see in my stouts though. First sip of the beer and I knew I’d enjoy it. Rather bittersweet peppery chocolate jumps out first, light astringency, roasted malts about mid-palate with lingering bitter coffee-like finish. The palate was a little on the thinner side of things, but it didn’t detract from the enjoyment of the beer. Solid.

Nice black-mahogany pour with a thinnish creamy head and some lacing. Roasted malts, slight coffee and a touch of bittersweet chocolate with a hint of the rye in the aromas. Taste is rich with a very nice toasted maltiness up front with the hint of java and cocoa then some hops in a dry finish. Another nice brew from tiny Depot Street.
