A campfire in a glass, this robust beauty has seductive notes of vanilla, smoked cedar, and mulling spices on the nose. A dark pour with mild lacing, she is a rollercoaster of lush chocolate and fig fruits diving into a semi-dry finish of truffle and cherry.

12 oz can. Pours amber brown with a big fluffy light tan head that retains well and leaves a little lacing.
The aroma is sweet acidic smokey roast chocolate malt.
The flavor is very sweet roasted chocolate malt with some metallic bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is light bodied and watery.
Overall, too sweet and kind of flawed. -

Black beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, light smoke, vanilla, and chocolate. Taste is sweet with chocolate, light smoke, vanilla, caramel, and prune. However also quite bitter. (Houston 201408)

There sure seamed to be a plethora of quality flavored porters on this trip and this one qualifies. Actually went there for this beer. Solid feel - not thin, fairly robust for the abv. Flavor and aroma very pleasant chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt, dark fruits and a wisp of smoke. Well done.
