Our year round ode to the Pacific Northwest hop. At DEBC, we like hops, but we like American hops most of all. Here we use some of our absolute favorites. However, they might not be used like you may expect, by using varieties with high alpha acid contents (which means more potential for bitterness) and using them in ways to emphasize the flavor and aroma we can render a rather bitter ale with over the top tropical fruit, citrus, pine, floral, and more hop derived aroma and flavor. Style: American-style India Pale Ale Hops: Citra, Amarillo, Chinook, Palisade, and Summit Malts: Pale Ale, Vienna, Honey, and White Wheat Yeast: English Ale

6-pack bought in Austin on a trip. Slightly hazed amber colour with creamy-foamy warm beige head, good retention and some soapy lacing that stays. Grassy hop aromas that are well-blended with the fruity malts. Somewhat of a dry, but refreshing mouthfeel. Flavours from the caramel malts balanced with the grassiness. Again, some decent fruitiness. Nicely done.

Pours a hazy honey amber with a fairly thick, pale golden tan, fine-bubbled head. Strong aroma is quite hoppy with a fruity undertone that is equal parts citrus and apple/pear and has more than a hint of hay. Flavor is muy hoppy, evergreen and woody, somewhat bitter, subtly citrus and pomme fruity. Firm texture is fairly fizzy and leaves a hoppy, fruity finish. Never mind oil - strike this!

A nasal blast of tropical fruits, pineapple, orange and grapefruit before even pouring from the can. A follow up of bready malt and pine in the flavor adds complexity. An assertive yet easy drinking iPa. Very very good. Thanks Hannah for providing me with this unknown gem.

Hazy copper-amber pour with two finger off-white head with decent retention and nice lacing. Huge tropical citrus nose with hints of grapefruit, pine, and tangerine. Taste follows suit with tons of resiny, citrusy, fresh hops with hints of orange peel, grapefruit, pine, caramel, mango, and pineapple. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a great tangy, bitter hop finish. Was totally not expecting this, wow this is a really impressive beer.

My first DEBC beer and it did not disappoint. Hoppy aromatics hit you before the glass is even near your mouth. Lots of interesting hops flavor as well. Starts tropical and floral with a resiny-pine finish. Plenty of malt to lend body, bite, interest. Love it. A new go-to IPA.

Hazy dark yellow with small off white foam head. Aroma is small, little bitter. Unlike the taste which is very hoppy indeed. Aftertaste is long lasting bitterness. (Houston 201303)
