Overwhelming sweet aroma and taste. Have to get used to this. Slight opaque yellow, small white foam ring. Caramel and sugar aftertaste. (Luik 201507) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown body with zero cap. Overly sweet honey aroma with some vinegar. The vinegar continues in the taste with sour cherry, more vinegar, maybe raspberry, and a flavor that reminds me of the mix between root beer and orange pop. To conclude the is vinegar with sugar added some cherry. The End

Bottle: Poured a cloudy dark burgundy color lambic with a small foamy head with light retention and no lacing. Aroma of syrup and sugar is somewhat gross with light oak notes and no funky notes. Taste is also dominated by gross sugar and syrup with limited complexity from the oak or the base lambic. Body is full with minimal complexity and a minimal carbonation.

Bottled (from lahoublonniere.be). Deep ambery brown colour with small beige head. Aroma is sugar, some slight fruityness and a bit of sourness as well. Flavour is sourness, wood and some slight sugary notes as well as some sweet spicelike touches. Quite interesting.

Many thanks to SudsMcDuff for this rare treat, happily shared with Beerhunter & Phishpond. Poured a cloudy amber with a fair-sized but rapidly disappearing dense white head. Sour nose with a unique fruity soy sauce aroma. Dense in palate and intense in flavor, with the sharp sour tastes of tart apples, grapes and cherries well blended with the mellow sweetness of brown sugar. The finish was quite sour and long. A very interesting and satisfying beer; the first of this style I have tried.

I need to extend a big "Thank You" to PFOXYJOHN for driving 3 hours to my place to share with with Phishpond and I, and also a "Thank You" to SUDSMCDUFF for sending this to him. Without either, I would not have experienced my first Faro today. The beer poured a slightly cloudy amber color with a decent head. The flavor was slight sour and was very representative of the flavor to come. The flavor certainly had some candy notes to it, with some hints of cherry. The mouthfeel was noticeable heavier than most beer, and the finish was slightly sour. What an incredible beer.

So this was a big surprise from John via Suds, due to a tasting with Shawn. It just happened to work out that way, and I'm glad it did- what a delightful beer! Pours a cloudy orange colour with a consistant battle of sour and sweet- although not forceful- green apple, fig and brown sugar notes throughout. A little bit of tea- something that reminds me of some throat tea that brittany gives me. floral and fruity with fermented fruits. Awesome, and interesting- i would love to try this again! Thanks John!

This lambic Faro pours an orange gold color from a 330ml bottle. Note this bottle had a best before 1997 on it so this sample may be a little old. Small sized white head. Aroma is apples and peaches, Very sweet. A medium bodied beer. Malts are fruity and sweet. Lots of apple flavors, not a lot of carbonation. A little funky and a touch tart, but mostly sweet. Lots of grape, apple and peach flavors. Still very pleasant tasting, especially for a beer that was nearly 10 years past its prime and stored in questionable conditions. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sweet.

from notes from days gone by I guess that this is the beer for the lambic lover who doesn't want something sour. The addition of sugar gives this brew a nice flavor. This is a simple, easy drinking beer.
