Dark brown/black small light brown little lacing foam head. Aroma is stark bitter coffee. Bitter coffee taste, some roasted bread tones. Smooth still. Bitter aftertaste. (Velp 201409)

Strong, smoky aroma has notes of molasses, caramel and licorice. Pours a warm sable just a snip or two above jet black with a thick and fairly persistent tan head. Mouth-filling flavor floods the palate with woody hop, molasses, licorice and caramel tones. Syrupy texture is none to fizzy, but nice and thick. A bold porter that will make you sit up and take notice. I weep for Boston. :_(

mmmmmm.....Crap it looks like my bottle might have been leaking, there is dried sticky beer running down the side of the bottle coming from the cap. Beer still appears to be carbonated. Dark brown body with limited cap floating on top. Roasted aroma, some sweetness, tobacco, earth, and only a small touch of coffee. Taste is light and crisp and has a dull lingering bitter in the finish. Flavorless sweetness, earth, kind of coffee but not. I change my mind the earth is just dirt. This isn't that bad, not epic though. Can't decide if this beer has been tainted yet. Just hit a big chunk of chocolate. Powdery this taste is!! No trace of the alcohol, well my head feels funny. ACK!! Getting to sweet. Almost sour never really makes it. I don't know what to make of this beer I could give it a 2.8 - 3.8 depending on the sip.

180 ml waxed bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Also sampled at Olympen, Oslo. ABV is 11%. Bitterness 92,9 EBU. Pitch black colour, no head, hardly any carbonation. Lovely vinous and roasty aroma, dark dried fruits, oak. Roasty flavour with oaky and vinous notes, distinct hoppy bitterness in the finish. Good stuff!

Bottled. A perfect ending to two very nice days around in Ulfborg! Very dark rubyish brown colour (close to black) with small creamy brown head that stays for a while. Aroma is raisins, smoked wood, some peat, mild smoke as well as some slight fruityness. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, licorice, alcohol as well as some mildly smoked wet wood. Really complex and wellbalanced. Fullbodied.
