A full malt beer balancing between a Trappist and a stout. A generous dose of hops and an adequate period of maturation make this beer an absolute hit.

A murky brown with a beige head. The aroma contains some coffee, toffee, and nutmeg. The flavor is rather malty with a hint of smoke. Lots of toffee, nutmeg, coffee, and spices. The finish is a bit dry. Overall a nice beer!

Opaque dark brown with huge light brown foam head that seems to have a life of its own. Hard to stop the foam from growing, fermentation is ongoig. Aroma is little coffee, some salami, not kidding. Taste is bitter chocolate, coffee, long lasting. The brewer suggest to drink this beer warm topped of with whipped cream, I can imagine it will be nice. A different but very good beer. (Vekp 201306)

330 ml capped bottle. Poured a dark brown-red coloured ale with a generous two fingers tan creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Mid-sized carbonation. Great lacing. The aroma is toasted malts, yeast, toasted coffee beans, dark fruits, cherries, notes of smoke. The flavour is roasted malts, roasted coffee beans, fruity, grapes, dark bitter chocolate, spicy, pepper, chilli; vinous and licorice notes. The mouthfeel is crispy, a bit sparkling and very smooth. This medium to full bodied ale has a recognizable warming effect and a long malty finish. A superb Begian Strong Ale.

This beer has a dubbel like character, but no where on the case does it mention the word so I've added it as a Belgian Strong Ale. THis is an excellent beer. The beer pours a nice brown colour witrh reddish edges. The aroma is dark malt, caramel, sugar, and dark fruits. The flavour is a nice balance between the sweet malt, some yeastiness, and the fruit tones. A nice bitter finish is welcome.
