One of the better browns around including the mistake by the lake (Cleveland Browns folks, it's a joke). Hearty roasted malts with toast, molasses, cream and a trace of cold coffee. Dark brown pour with a billowing head and thick lacing. Medium bodied with a light finish, great session brew.

12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV not mentioned on the label. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Big to moderate tan head. Nice malty aroma with notes of caramel and brown bread. The flavour is distinctly malty with notes of caramel and brown bread again, without becoming too sweet. Low bitterness. Nutty finish.

Gift from phishpond @ OktoberPhist: dark brown pour with no head nor lacing. Roasted malty aroma with nuts, earthy hops, slight brown sugar, very slight smoked wood. Taste is nice with a not-overly sweet maltiness, hint of smoke, very earthy hops bitter and a bit of nuttiness. Thanks Travis for a good brown - nice on a stormy evening.

Not a bad beer at all! Picked this up at Riley's the other day, got one for my pal blue lou as well. Almondy and peanuty from the start. Dark brown, slightly muddy buddy. Taste is malted, cinnamon and bread, light fruit flavours. OVerall, balanced brown ale.

Strong aroma has overtone of burnt brown sugar and a hint of caramel. Pours an opaque dark-chocolate brown with a thick, creamy fine-bubbled pale tan head. Lip-smacking flavor is malty with tones of caramel and molasses and just a hint of fruit. Texture is pleasingly smooth with a nice subtle tingle. Worth hunting down!

On tap at the brewery. Thin, slightly tan head. The color is a very dark amber with some brown coloring. The aroma is pears and light cinnamon with a hint of oranges. The taste is bread crust, oranges and high waulity dried tobacco. Very nice and satisfying brown.

I was impressed with my first dark horse. Not weak, there is a good bit of depth and flavor to this brown ale. Nice smokey flavor. A good brown ale.
