This hazelnut brown beer has wonderfully flavorful smoky undertones. The smoky undertones of this beer are enhanced by the Chocolate (this is the color of the malt NOT flavor), Black and Smoked malt that are added during the brewing process.

Comes out of the bottle a clear tawny brown with a thick buff head. Malty aroma has a strong overtone of smoked bacon. Flavor does not quite echo the aroma, being malty and just a tad sweet but barely smoky and lacking depth. Bland texture has only average fizz and thickness. Only so-so, but still palatable. Good for a party.

Märzen beer base is not special, but lots of smoke in both aroma and taste. Medium, clear amber color---with average head. Thin body. A rare attempt by a domestic brewer for a truly smoked beer!
