The hop plant (Humulus lupulus) is a member of the family Cannabinacae. The female flowers are used in beer for their bittering, aromatic and antiseptic properties. The powerful character and complexity of this beer are the result of generous additions of hops. Agent Provocateur is a strongly hopped beer - a hybrid of an I.P.A. and a Belgian golden ale. Bright, colourful notes of exotic fruits (pineapple, grapefruit and lime) and spices give way to a solid, long bitter finish. This beer is an excellent aperitif and goes perfectly with spicy food. Not for pragile palates ! Available in 33 cl and 75 cl bottles and 30 l Keykegs.

750 ml corked bottle. Poured in the original brewery Craig Allan glass a hazy rich golden amber colored ale with a generous three fingers slight beige creamy foamy head that had an excellent retention. Soft carbonation. Good lacing. The aroma is heavy aromatic resinous hops, yellow fruits, apricots. The flavour is a solid hoppy bitterness, resinous and piney hops, notes of fruits, the malts are emerging in a second time. A nice balance bitterness / maltiness. The mouthfeel is very smooth, notes of sweetness. This medium bodied ale has a lingering hoppy bitter finish. A very nice and tasting ale. This first try from a young Scottish brewer who moved to Picardie is a real success. I am now waiting for new creations !
