Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz into a pint glass. There is no noticeable freshness date on the label. Appearance: The body has a dark brown color with a slight reddish hue when held up light. It is dark but the clarity is still good. Its head has a light tan color and stands about one finger tall. It slowly fades down to just a wispy thin layer that makes some slick lacing. Smell: There is sweet roasted maltiness in the nose with notes of dark caramel, toffee and just a slight hint of hops. Taste/Palate: The flavor has a very sweet and bready malt character with notes of brown sugar, caramel, and some deep roasted notes. There is a very light and smooth buttery flavor as well. Hop flavor and bitterness are very light and offer very little balance to the sweet malt. It has a medium body with a smooth texture and light but active carbonation. Notes: Overall It was a good basic Brown Ale.

Yet another beer from my Dad's trip to Syracuse that he "imported" back to Delaware. Beer poured with darkish brown color, nice head, almost no aroma. Flavor was bitter and metallic at first sip. As it warmed, a little more flavor came out and the beer rose to the "respectable" level. Caramel flavor with strongish nut presence...maybe a touch of unsweetened chocolate/cocoa flavor. Bitterness faded a bit as it warmed, but the metallic aftertaste carried on. Yet another "blah" effort from Cooperstown Brewery...upon which I can only bestow the praise of having a really cool cap (looks like a baseball).

Picked this one up at Kraigs Kegs. Poured a rich brown with full tan head. Nose was of malt with bananna esters and just a hint of booze. Nice full body that encouraged you to drink this ale slow and savor it. Went very well with fish and chips.

I found this to be a very enjoyable brown ale and one of my favorite products from Cooperstown. It poured a brownish color with just a hint of orange. There was a thin head and lots of bubble action. The taste was quite nice with no bitter aftertaste at all....as some brown ales can have. I would recommend giving this one a try as it is very good!
