The biggest beer brewed in Oklahoma, DNR begins with central and western European malts that are skillfully blended with Noble hops from northern Germany. Pours a cloudy, medium amber color. A big, creamy head lends to impressive lacing. The aroma is interesting and complex, blending notes of sweet, toffee malt, sugary candy, ripe fruit, black pepper and vanilla. Flavor is equally interesting and ends up being fairly balanced by all the characteristics. If I had to say one flavor stands out, it is the hearty malt base. Delicious beer overall. Full bodied, smooth, somewhat viscous, with notable warming. COOP sometimes puts a cask of this out with various "enhancements." I recenty had a hand pump version with extra orange and ginger added; it was spectacular, a perfect variation for welcoming the fall season.

begian golden ale on the back of the label? juuuuuust a bit outside. this golden pours darker than most dubbels and some BSAs. No complaints here, just not what i was expecting. In all facets reminded meof Monks Blood, with cinnomon and vanilla, and a backdrop of belgian yeasty spiciness being the main players. very enjoyable brew. thanks Hannah!

On tap at the Republic pub. Simply fantastic. This is a delicious, malty tripel whose only fault is being a little too flavorful (if that is possible). It pours rather flat with a thick amber body. Mouthfeel is almost syupy. The flavor is an explosion of fruit and malt. The alcohol is well hidden. This is a wonderful beer. Would like to drink more, but only available on tap. Believe it or not, it's worth driving to Oklahoma to sample this one. ******************************************************************************************************************************* 12/11 Updated. Sampled on draft at McNellies in OKC. Pours amber with a remarkable head and lace. Just a faint haze. There's a fair amount of pepper in the aroma with some clove and citrus notes, but mild overall. Balanced with pepper, tropical fruits. Nice bready malt profile. The yeast character is not overwhelming and it seems there's some pretty solid yeast management going on at COOP. Probably pitched at low temps and allowed to rise. Digestible. A fine beer.
