Gotta love the homage to Andy Warhol on the label. Hoppy aroma has a nice fruity undertone, mainly apple with hints of pear and banana. It pours a clear amber with a frothy and rather persistent white head. Flavor is fairly hoppy, but almost as malty as hoppy - not quite what I expect from an IPA. Still tasty, though, with a nice fruity undertone. Texture has plenty of fizz and good body. A respectable IPA, if not a spectacular one.

Off the tap at Charleston Beer Works... and off the chain in quality! Draws hazy amber-orange with a fluffy, moderate head that sits just right and laces incredibly to the end. Grapefruit/hop aroma that fills the nose. Flavor is simply superb; you'll not find one with such a balance of (slight) malt and bitter hops that refreshes so well, sits so well on the pallette and finishes so clean with a hint of the bitter. Among the best from my recent trip.

Bomber, bottled 030811 according to label, from brother-in-law from recent trip to Charleston: Charleston Beer Exchange which he gave very high reviews. Slightly hazy amber orange with a very tight near perfect head which is sustained while drinking leaving bits of lazy lacing. Nice citrus hops aroma with fresh grapefruit predominant along with some peaches and mango. Also a decent dose of honeysuckle and sweet malts in the nose. Taste is citrus hops bitter upfront offset by decent amount of sweet malts. Nice long hops bitter linger; glad I got it fresh. Very nice effort from this little brewery.

22 oz. bottle (courtesy of BrewerDan) into a standard pint glass. Poured a cloudy light copper color with a large off-white head which settled slowly and left a nice amount of lacing. Nose was citrus (grapefruit, apricot, pineapple and orange) with some floral notes. Taste had hints of caramel, brown sugar, and citrus but was pretty slanted toward dry and bitter. There was an odd musty flavor that I didn't care for. Body is medium, resinous and sticky. Alcohol is well hidden. I guess my previous encounter with Boy King set too high a standard but, for whatever the reason, this was a disappointment. I will try it again since there is always a chance I got a bad bottle but...I won't go out of my way for it.
