A New Boston Tradition The latest offering from Clown Shoes Beers is a Belgian style White Ale. Light-bodied and crisp, this is a terrific seasonal packed with plenty of zest! Hazy in appearance and healthily carbonated, it utilizes Chambly yeast to energetically shape its wheat malt base. Incorporated in the brewing process is Clementine, sweet orange peel, a hint of Coriander, and Summit hops. At a sly, easy-drinking 5.9%, Clementine is dynamic and flavorful enough to satisfy discerning craft beer palates, yet light enough to count among “sessionable” beers. Poured high into a pint or traditional pilsner style glass, drinkers can sip away lazy summer afternoons. As for food pairings, it is the perfect compliment to a range of salads and seafoods or light cheeses such as Feta, Monterey and Gruyere.

pours a whitish, yellow color and is very hazy with small off white head that leaves a lacing. The aroma is of Belgian wheat and yeast, spices and orange. The orange is slightly bitter and slightly sweet. The taste is wheat and yeast up front, lots of spices, and strong orange. The orange starts off bitter from the peels and ends up sweet from the clementine with some surprising hop bitterness in the end. The mouth feel is a nice refreshing, light to medium bodied with ample carbonation.

Pale yellow color with a bubbly short-lived head, some lacing. Sweet orange and citrus with coriander and spices in taste and aroma. Lively and peppery, nicely sweet, nice zesty linger. Refreshing and tasty.

12 oz bottle. Pours hazy golden amber with a meringue white head that retains fairly well and laces the glass.
The aroma is citrus, coriander and some funky yeast.
The flavor is sweet bready malts with some citrus, coriander, floral spices and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth creamy carbonation.
Overall, an OK wit, a little heavy on the spice. -

First tried this in the 22 oz. bomber, but then found in the 12 oz. 4-packs. A little more affordable this way and can spread out better. Style is Blue Moon-ish, but better qualify, smoother mouthfeel and richer flavor. Has more of a "Belgian" feel. A bit hoppier than the White Ale norm, but adds to the flavor and character. Appearance a cloudy pale yellow with light orange hue. Liked the brown/darker Clown Shoes I've tried a little more...but this is a better than average White. Not sure I'll be revisiting, but would recommend to anyone that likes this style or sampling the Clown Shoes family.

i wasn't crazy about the aroma like my previous pals. coriander and orange peel there, but it was a touch weak, with a slight hint of diaper. the feel starts thin, but makes up for it with a lasting lively fiziness that makes the spices linger on the tongue. flavor typical for style. this beer was slightly more than the average sixer, so i probably won't revisit.

Aromas predominantly clementine, with the hints of corriander and wheat all combined to give an pungent yet interesting aroma. The body is a cloudy yellow/ orange, the head was small but left some o.k. lace. Flavor was about the same as the aroma but the wheat showed up a bit more, as did some slightly bittering hops.

A cloudy orange colored beer with a big frothy textured, white head rising above. There was some hang time. It settles into a very thin ringlet. Big coriander and fruit-citrus nose. The fruit of sweet-tart oranges rise to the forefront in the tasting. Light-medium bodied. Effervescent and crisp. And remarkable refreshing.

A beautifully smooth witbier that goes down easily and is quite refreshing. A very pale yellow, very cloudy, and a pillowy white head assemble in the pour out of the bottle. Lots of citrus and spice in the aroma, and the weak hint of wheat. The flavour is mild wheat malt, backed by citrusy hops and spices.
