This is our heaviest beer to date coming in at a close to 8.0% ABV. This strong stout is combined with custom fair trade Sumatra coffee, brown sugar, and oats. Because of the breakfast ingredients, dark color and big flavor it was only fitting to name it after our favorite dawn patrol surf spot in So. Cal, Blacks Beach.

A blackness in colored with a disappointingly small head. In short order it dissipates into a moderate ringlet. Coffee in the nose. More of that bitter coffee in a roasted malt, sweetened with molasses. Light bodied. Tasting is it's high point

8.5%. Wouldn't be able to discern brown sugar if not noted. Loads of coffee in the aroma and flavor., which is quite bitter following on the heels of a very smooth body. Very nice, not quite elite.

Huge thanks to my lovely wife for this nice Christmas gift. Bottle pours a deep black with a nice frothy tan head. Notes of chocolate and coffee and on the nose. Flavors of bakers chocolate, bitter coffee, and some harsh tannins. This is a nice offering that probably would improve with age.
