Dark ruby with fading brownish foam head lacing to glass. Aroma is sweet barley. Taste is little sweet, bread and toffee. Somewhat bitter aftertaste. (Velp 201206)

Ciney Bruin aroma has yeast, bread and darker fruits in it. Very promising. But the flavour has also a bit bread and a sweetness I can't place yet. Too bad the flavour disappears rapidly. Also, it's hard to pour a nice glass. I couldn' fill the entire glass. Just when it starts to build a head, the bottle is empty, leaving the glass just about half full. And it's not like I'm a rookie in pouring beers. So that is a loss of points in the appearance wich is a shame because the glass looks great.

Dark amber colour, small brown head. Aroma is raisins plum and some glue. Flavour is caramellish malts, burnt sugar and plum. Smooth, and hides alcohol in flavour, but the glueishness in aroma I guess is due to alcohol. Great palate.

brown colour with a little head, malty with a hint of burnt caramel in the nose, sweet and medium-bodied with notes of candy sugar in the finish - nice but nothing to dream about

Reddish brown color, solid white foam and pleasant malty aroma. A little spicy at the beginning but later mild and malty with slight patches of bitterness at the end. A little to watery and not that very original.

Bottle drank at le Cirio in Brussels: Poured a dark opaque brown colored beer with a nice head with better then average retention. Aroma is a mix of roasted malt and some slight notes of sweetness. Taste is very refreshing with again notes of roasted malt and candi sugar hitting my palate. I would have expected a bit more complexity from this beer to go from good to great. Overall, this is not a bad dubbel but maybe lacking a bit of character.

Dark amber colour with a slim head. Malty aroma with slight sour cherries. Malty, fruity cherries and chocolate in the taste. Dry, sweet finish. Nice dubbel.

A delicious beer with a good aroma and a perfect appearance. The only flaw is that the mouthfeel is a bit watery.
