Cigar City Brewing started a new series of beers this month called the Torcedores Series in which individual brewers on staff can design their own recipes and brew them. Label approval (keg collar / draft-only) has come in for Hoppy Wheat Ale already and the brewery revealed earlier this month that a black saison is part of the way as well. More from Facebook… Today we’re letting Neal brew one of his recipes, a black Saison! Neal is a brewer here and we decided to let each of the brewers do their own thing without going through the usually tyrannical Wayne. We call it: The Torcedores Series. A torcedor is a cigar roller! We figured the tie-in was perfect. We plan to have many beers available in this series coming up!

A dark black in color beer with a two finger frothy textured light brown head rising faurly quick enough. S small, thin ringlet is left behind. The profile is dark rioastiness and seet, tart dark fruits. Medium bodied. Well carbonated. And tasty.
