750mL bottle pours deep dark mahogany with lasting tall light mocha head. The aroma offers up some musty somewhat earthy maltiness, blueberry and prune fruit esters and then rolling into spicy black licorice. The is pure “homer” goodness with a firm level of yum. I get some roasted malts and spicy black licorice slipping into earthiness, chocolate and a brief flash of burnt malts. This is tasty rich Baltic Porter that murmurs up sweet dark fruity esters amid spicy black licorice into the finish.

A good porter, but didn't live up to it's price tag. Drinks somewhat easy for 9%. Between the ABV% and sweeter flavors, felt more like an IPS. The recipe is decent and quality feel. Limited edition and all (1000th batch)...not something I'd really seek again though...unless regular priced.

The bottle obtained was noticeably soured, therefore it was highly disappointing. Sour berries, light roast, mild chocolate followed by a mild tartness. Clearly this example is not reflective of the Baltic Porter Style, but you could pick out the original intent. Flat pour with a filmy head. Too distracting to really get into.
