Pours a dark clear golden yellow with a medium sized frothy white head that dissipates into a thick ring with moderate lacing. The aroma of sweet malts, biscuit and hints of spice. The taste starts with a slight citrus bitterness, smooth's out with sweet light malt, a very slight hop ending. The mouthfeel was medium leaning light body, moderate carbonation, smooth with a slight crispness. One of the best lagers I have ever drank.

For the most part, the beer is average. Suprised to see it with such high ratings for just a regular old lager. Anyway, plenty of malts, plenty of grain. Little bit of fruit midpalate, soft decent hops finishing it out.

This was the first Christian Moerlein product introduced by Cincinnati's Hudepohl Brewing Co. in 1981 (when it was the 5th-largest brewer in the US) before anyone in mid-america had ever heard of "craft beer." Poured into a pint glass, with a generous head. Aroma is typically lager-subtle, malt-dominant, on the sweet side, with a pleasant little hop tang. Full-bodied, for an american pale lager. Easy-drinking and smooth, an excellent example of the style.

Even though this is a bargain beer. 4 dollars for a 6 pack at local bargain grocery store. Great beer really. Thick hearty flavorful lager. I would buy this over most any lager I have ever had. It is malty and hoppy and really just made well. worth trying

Good lager indeed, very filling and flavorful. Aroma is nothing to get excited over but it's decent. Bright golden pour with a big white puffy head and lots and lots of lacing. Very full and thick mouthfeel (at least for a lager). Good malty flavor a touch of sweet grains along with some slight toastiness. Good choice for a lager, comparable to Leinenkugel's Original only a bit better.
