Acquired in trade with Chopz. Pours an average size foamy head and goes away quickly and leaves a thin layer. Dirty lacing. Has a copper light brown appearance. Aromas of light malts, floral hops and grains. Flavours are mainly spiced and floral hops, light citrus flavours as well. Not very bitter at all, very mild. Has somewhat of a sweet tangy taste, hints of caramel. Medium retention, with an unbalanced sweet/bitter finish. Slick chalky mouthfeel. Not bad, just not with the hoppiness I was expecting. Too weak.

Pours brown with big bubbles in a thin head.Very little lacing. Not much aroma.Looks ok which is its best characteristic.Thin mouthfeel. Not much of a hop flavor for an ipa.Won't buy again.

The Eagle has landed................in my beer glass..........and it can take off at any time because it didn't leave what was advertised. This is not a refreshing IPA, this is a borderline English brewed swill. A clear gold beer with very little aroma and taste = swill!

1/2liter can/ Looks decent enough deep amber-gold color, weak head, limited lacing, over carbonated. Aroma: almost undetectable, light whisps of sweet caramel and wet cardboard. Profile: Light malt presence, light hopping almost dominates this characterless ale, fast lightly bitter wet finish. Watery mouth feel, weak body non descript character. Leave it on the shelf. Not worth the price.

The beer poured a beautiful translucent coppery red colour with a generous tan coloured head that quickly dissippated into rocky caps on top. Effervescence was notable when held up to the light. The aroma was grainy malt with a little bit of vomit. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, slightly creamy, and mildly carbonated with a bitter finish. The flavour was grainy malt, with some grapefruity hoppy bitterness in the finish, just enough to be detected. -

Cask@GBBF2007. Golden colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is fruits, wood and some caramel. Flavour is caramel, fruits, hops and some grassyness. Also some slight sour things.

Like most other reviewers i would be hesitant to call this an IPA..it certainly seems more indicitave of the ESB style. The body pours a dark copper colour that leaves a nice thick white head. Almost zero lacing down the glass however. The aroma was a dissapointment and i have to agree that there was almost a metallic smell to the ale. The taste was not much better. I happen to love this style of beer so i suppose i've given it a higher than normal rating due to that. The fact is that this is a below average ale with a sub par taste that lacks character. I wouldn't turn this down because i love the style but it is one of the worst i've tried so far.

Can drank at room temperature: Poured a light brown color ale with a nice big foamy head with great retention. Aroma of English hops are more present then expected with some nice caramel malt in the back. Taste is hoppier then expected for an English bitter with some noticeable English hops (cannot figure out which variety though) that provide great bitterness without any of the citrus characterized by c-hops. Body is about average and carbonation is low which is to be expected of. Better then expected.

A decent swilling brew but neither an IPA or really worth paying import prices for. Its not terrbile with an average attack, decent apperance and a bit of coppery aftertaste.
