This dark golden coloured ale hugs the palate with great intensity. Its malty aroma is complemented by the gentle nose of Banana. Its flavour unfolds with a sensual sparkle and a smart crispness, which balances its aroma perfectly. Tropically fruity; its ripe banana flavour, emphasised by a hint of bitterness, comes from the addition of real fair trade bananas and finishes with an emphatic, steely dryness.

Thanks to my bud Jeff for this beer. This is exactly as advertised. Banana bread in a bottle - both in aroma and in flavor. The flavor is a bit artificial but good nonetheless.

Got this one as a Christmas gift. It poured very clear, nice thick top, with lots of Banana Bread aromas. I was worried i would not like this one.The taste was bread and malts-followed by a nice banana bread taste.Really impressed with this beer.

Great beer that it was afraid to try because of the banana label. I'm sure glad I got past my fears because is really special. I smoke a lot of cigars and have yet to find one that doesn't pair well with this brew. I mostly drink porters/stouts and ales and still this is a treat to drink.

This is a Sari-recommended brew. Wells Banana Bread Beer is a unique tasting brew that has just enough creamy banana savoriness to make my taste buds sing "Day-O" with a foamy smile. Love the butter brickle color of this brew's pour. I'm not a big fan of fruity beer, but this is truly an exception. I can only imagine what a layered beer with this banana beer and a dark chocolate beer would taste like! Maybe I'll have to try it. Also, enjoy the label--a peeled banana brew! Sweet!

Pours a frothy average amount of head but goes away quickly and leaves very little. Fairly weak lacing. Has a golden amber colour. Definitely has a banana like aroma, slightly bready and herbal hops. Flavours are quite distinctly banana bread, toffee sweetness with notes of caramel and spices. Slick oily mouthfeel with a prickly sensation. Slight bitterness. Really good sweet beer that's not too offensive or over the top with the banana, but 1 or 2 will suffice in one sitting.

Bright amber color with slightly off white foam head leaving foam on glass. Smells like banana (who would have thought), funny combination of bitter with banana aftertaste. (Galveston 201205)

From BCLDB Nordel Crossing, in a pint bottle. Clear amber pour, albeit headless. Aroma - almost nobody home here, just a suggestion of banana. Mouth was just better than okay, but that's all. Flavour for damned sure had banana as did the finish, maybe some spices hiding here as well. Mouth was only average. Mostly a novelty beer, drinkable, inoffensive, but I'd not make a habit of this one.

This stuff tastes and smells like your grandmothers banana bread, nutty, buttery and smooth pours standard golden and smells of delicious banana bread. Great beer but can't drink more then 1 or 2 in a night.

I try gimmicky beers and almost without exception they aren't worth it. This smells just like it's described, so right on there. The beer is so thin it looks like dirty water and tastes about the same. Not worth it.

I thought at first that this was a novelty beer, but after talking to a friend across the pond, this has been a regular offering from Wells since the late 90s. A rust coloured beer with a huge white head. There is banana and yeast in the aroma, some hops, and grass as well. Flavour isn't as sweet as the aroma suggests, and is in fact, nicely balanced.
