    12oz bottle -

I nice example of a DIPA, although clearly inspired by the East Coast school of brewing with a heavy dose of malts. Aroma is super fruity, tangerine, orange juice concentrate with some dankness lurking about. Flavor is much more aggressive with some earthy/peppery hops, light pine and resin, with a buttery caramel malt base. A nicely balanced DIPA.

This is more like it! Huge Wisconsin DIPA from pfoxyjohn. Light golden copper pour with a thin white head and little rivers of lacing. HUGE peachy and apricot aromas from the massive hops, sweet and inviting, nectar-like, and a bit of sweet maltiness so as no to scorch the nasal cavity. Taste is overwhelmingly peaches and apricots with more citrus hops presence, a bit of sweet wet fresh pine, touch of floral honeysuckle, light malts. BIG flavorful Impy IPA with a great fruity flavor and long bitter linger that is at the same time nectar-like sweet. Very very nice. HUGE thanks to John for this nugget.

At first glance it doesn't look much like other DIPAs, doesn't have that burnt gold and orange color, just mostly gold. Smell is very fruity, citrus and berries. Mouthfeel is kind of light for a DIPA. Flavor is lots of juicy and citrus hops with a little sweet malt in there too, not a bad beer.

i'll have to be the dissenter here. this bottle was marked May and the age showed. It had potential with some spicy resinous hops present, but the presentatin was flat. The aroma overly sweet, the hops and bitterness subdued. 10 months is just too long on the shelf for an IPA to be at it's best. got it in a trade w/John, so I'm not sure if I'll ever re-rate this one. So far, I love CWs strong, dark beers and have been less than enamored with their hoppy offerings (this and hop harvest).

Pours a murky caramel tan, good foam, lacing is good .. . you got any spare change? .. . wow! fresh hops, resin, and a strange satisfying sweetness- unique and tasty .. . awesome stuff!.. wish i had a keg and a plunger .. . and yes, i know you think i'm crazy, but its only because i hear voices in my head- but they only speak spanish and i don't have a clue what they're saying..

Pour is dark gold with plenty of head. Smells just like a tropical fruit salad--pineapple, grapefruit, mango. Wonderfully oily mouthfeel but becomes a little too sweet by the bottom of the glass. Still a very good DIPA.

Had this on tap several times now. Great, solid double UPA with plenty of hop madness. Bright copper, beautiful floral notes, citrus fruit and generous amounts of herbs. Taste is fruity, yet earthy. I have yet to see it in bottles.
