Good looking IPA with sligth amber hue to a golden base. Aroma of citrus and pine is quite nice. Flavor is more citrus and pine with little noticeable malt. Aftertaste is sharp and clean.

IPA from phishpond via OktoberPfist. Clear amber orange pour with an ample head and some lazy lacing. Grapefruit and slight pine hops aroma with some lightly sweet caramel malts. Taste is very much like the aroma with a nice citrus grapefruit and orange peel hops bitter offset and balanced by slightly sweet malts. Nice brew - thanks Travis.

No bottle date; Sampled May 2009,br> A solid pour produces a fat two-finger thick, light tan colored head in my large Tripel Karmeliet glass. The beer is a dark amber, really plum color that shows hazy, light cherry color when held up to the light. The aroma is crystal malt dominated with stick caramelized malt sugars, a biscuit-like toastiness and even a bit of sweet tea aromas coming through. A touch of grassy, slightly herbal hop character is noticeable in the finish, but you really have to dig around to notice it underneath the heavy crystal malt notes. The nose on this beer has a nice, chewy malt character to it, but the hop character is just lame and a huge let down for a mild Pale Ale, much less an IPA.

A bit fizzy as it hits the tongue, the beer is not nearly as sweet as the aroma suggests. The beer has a herbal, sometimes menthol like hop note that lightly flavors the beer and there is a bitterness in the finish that is somewhat consumed by the up front malt character during most of the flavor profile, but it does come out a bit more in the lingering, dry finish. Crystal malt derived flavor dominate in the second sip with sweet tea flavors, dry but caramelized malt notes, and a solid biscuit like malt toasted note. The beer has a medium fullness to it that is a bit heavier and chewier than I like in an IPA

Definitely a huge let down, this is a perfect example of a mildly hoppy Amber Ale, but I was really hoping for an IPA. There are not off flavors it is just too focused on crystal malt derived flavors.

Bottle from the generous, Bockyhorsey! Pour was full orangey to just short of copper, huge-mongo head that started with a gusher when opening the bottle (a gusher, infection fears). The aroma was caramel malts, tea bags, some light floral notes. The flavor followed the aroma, tea bags, caramel, and some spicey malts. Mouthfeel was firm malty with a bitter punch in the finish, but the hops weren't big enough to impress. Another big thanks to Bill for scoring me another brew!

Pours a very hazy copper (lots of floaties) with a thin tan head. Aroma is a little weak--not as much hops as I expected. Taste is off too--not sure if I have a bad bottle. Some citrus but a sour flavor as well (almost like the beer is spoiled). Would like to try this again to see if mine was a bad bottle.

Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a dense foamy off-white head and great lacing. A little caramel in the nose along with faint floral hops. Mouthfeel is smooth and medium-bodied. Taste is somewhat reserved with mellow fruity hops but with the caramel malt shining through. Slightly bitter finish. MUSIC: Sec Walkin' by My Morning Jacket. Sampled from bottle: pours a clear but dark copper colour with a faint but noticeable tan head. Aromas of citrusy hops, carmel and ginger. Taste is of astringent hops, citrus fruit- particularly grapefruit, limes and tangerine.
