This highly individualistic Red Saison is the quintessential artisanal brew. Its unique red colour leads to a surprisingly dry finish. French for "season", Saisons were originally brewed during the cooler temperatures from autumn to early spring in order to be ready for the scorching heat of summer. Saisons offer the perfect dual personality: crisp enough to take on a major thirst but tough enough to fight off spoilage.

Bomber from Central City. Clear dark pour, almost ruby-hued and a brief beige head. Earthy aroma, along with malt and maybe some alcohol. All this was reflected by the flavour, not at all bad. Agreeable mouthfeel. Even finish, some malt sweetness, but not cloying. Expected something lighter for a saison, this reminded me of a dopplebock. Liked it, though.
