Pengo Pally is a 6.5% abv saison inspired by the life and legend of Johnny May, the first Inuk bush pilot, that was brewed using arctic herbs hand-picked in Nunavik. Its name is the English pronunciation of an Inuktitut phrase that translates to “I Miss You” which was written on the side of May’s plane.

Bottle with a metal bottle-opener and chain. Hazy light-golden yellow colour, shinning with a frothy white cap, good retention and some thick foam, but not sticking to much. Belgian Ale yeast aromas with the herbs and light sugars, fruitiness. Nice bitterness with the herbs. Orange flavours with the sweet yeast and other fruitiness. A pretty good Saison with nice herbal notes that is quite refreshing.

Pours a good size foamy bubbly white head and has a slightly hazy orangey appearance. Lacing weaker than expected. Lively carbonation. Aromas of fruits, yeast and malts. Flavours are also fairly yeasty, some herbal and grassy hops. Lots of fruity notes as well as some subtle spiced hints. Full bodied mouthfeel.
